Free push to 1&1?

I have noticed people sell domains name registered at 1&1 advertising a "free push" to another 1&1 account. From my experience (I have emailed them about it) this is just not true. They charge a mainteneance fee of 6.99$ for each name pushed plus a renewal feel of 6.99 to the buyer. Please read also http://faq.1and1.com/domains/moving_domains_from_one_package_to_another_

If you know any procedure to make the free push "happen" please let me know because this would be a very good news not just to me but also for other NP members.

I very much doubt 1&1 offer a free push. It is possible they are handing control of their account to someone else but that is highly inadvisable.

I don't know why anyone would want to go with 1&1? They are just like Yahoo with domains..... stay away!

i agree to what everyone says about 1 and 1.
luckily only have 4 there

you think u have a hard time in states, for uk residents we are on a different pricing schedule and pay 2/3 times more!!!!!
or at least did for regges.

truly a woeful; registrar, it really amazes me how some of these people survive in thsi business, or at least sedo used to promote them and you used to go through to 1 and 1 if a domain was free lol. not sure if you still do.

The only solution I can see is transferring the name to a registrar that allows a free push (the cost should be just the renewal of the domain). Then the domain can be pushed and you will not be charged the damn "mainteneance fees" . (or they will charge it anyway?)

I believe you don't have to pay the 1&1 fees if you buy the domain at Sedo.
