Free Domains From Eclipse

Eclipse are offering 5 free domain names, make sure you register your 5 domain names all at the same time as you cant go back and register another domain even if you only selected one.

When I read their offer, I was under the impression it was an offer extended to Eclipse broadband customers in particular. I didn't get the impression they expected the offer to be posted elsewhere and used by those who weren't customers.

After some thought to what you posted here I would have to agree. I do know several other people at other forums were denied getting the free domains off of the fact they did not live in the UK. Eclipse had sent them an email stating this to them.

I still only have two and if anything I will be happy with this and not be too quick to claim all 5. For me this amount is sufficient.

Ya well... i havent got my other three.. but my freind told me that he got his 3 .co.uk in 1 day the others were .com's and he never got them

I still haven't gotten the .com domains, so far only got the 2 .co.uk domains, maybe I should have asked for all 5 co.uk instead of the 3 .coms
And I checked the whois, and it has my address info, in the .coms domains as well, but they don't appear in my admin panel for some reason

ps. just checked the whois again, my details appear as the Administrative Contact, and their as the Technical Contact.

Yes, Eclipse is a UK Company, and I agree that the offer of these free domains is possibly a loss leader in the hope that those registering domains will purchase other services, such as their broadband, which is maybe why they are filtering out non UK based registrations. If you read the small print, by taking up the offer you also agree to receive marketing information from Eclipse, which tends to verify the opinion above.

At the end of the day, its a free offer and maybe by only allowing a smaller number of domains to be registered per applicant, they are ultimately enabling more people to register and take advantage of the offer. Common sense really.

Even if you only got a few domains for free then its a few more than you had yesterday!

Same here, only the 2 .co.uk domains are showing, the other 3 .coms are not, but still have my info when I do the whois

I would suggest for those who still have unresolved domains to submit a support ticket to find out what is going on. If it has been more than 5 days or that your domains should have been in your CP by Wednesday(of last week) or the date specified than a support ticket is essential at this point in time.

Open a support ticket.

They may have met their limit of 12,000 free domains. That line has been showing I think for about 2 days now.

That is from their frontpage. Maybe there is just an overload or what not. But they did limit the free domain giveaway up to 12,000. They may not just have edited their pages properly as of yet.

they dont require a phone number when registering.. can someone please post a uk pin ?? thanks
