I have my work broadband with them, and must say they are an excellent broadband provider. Not trying to endorse them as a registrar, just that I wouldn't consider them a "shady" company like so many I see touted around this forum. (I have been a BB customer of theirs for some time now)

I dont know, I can see alot of people crying in about 1-2 years from now about not being able to renew/transfer/push their domains, we've see it before.

If it works out to be fine great if not what did you expect for nothin...

From my understanding from their TOS is:

3.2.2 You may request Us to transfer Your Domain name without charge.

3.3 If any domain name registered by Us is transferred during the Fixed Period, We will charge to You an early termination charge of the full domain registration fee for the relevant Fixed Period (including the initial Fixed Period), as published on Our Web Site, less any amounts already paid.

So you may transfer before the 24 months are up, but their will be fees involved.

Mine are still being resolved. It reminds me of having to wait up to 48 hours with ipower.

They wait to approve the domains manually which if you did it in the past 24 hours should be taken care of today. Mine hasn't come in yet but im not in this for selling domains or anything. If i want to Ill fork out the money for it. But this is just free development domains for myself :)

I will check if I could find my way around their CP etc..

So far 2 of the domains I have chosen are in my CP right now. I am trying to figure out their CP. It is kinda of clunky. I am trying to change the DNS info. But only could put the IP of my server in there atm.

It appears that they only have it availble to the first 12,000 orders of domains. Their typical rate per domain is 9.95 pounds = $18.97 USD. Still looking for transfer fees.

Almost $20USD per domain to renew? Whew, glad I didn't go for that one!

I am gonna take a punch in the dark on this one. Figuring logic will dictate since I can not find any further info on the actual domain amount other than what I already posted.

If you, at this moment, get the domains and want to transfer them out right now. You would have to pay the $20 per domain. So you would look at about $100 USD in transfer fees. I would think, just dont transfer out or Do not push to anyone for the next 24 months. Just develop the sites. And in due time hope there will be a price drop.

Although I might hold out on 2 of mine. Since I found 2 LLLL.com's with PR on them. So I will cross my fingers and go through this blindly atm. The other 3 I could really care less about and let them drop at the time of renewal.

But I guess that is how it is when it comes to domaining, taking a gamble and hope you can make profit somewhere along the road.

I have just order 5 domains and they will register my order tomorrow. It is true that you have to pay for transfer but in 24 month I will have money to renew or transfer them.

Who care that the renew price is expensive? You can let your domain expire, you can also sell your domain before it expire. The important is that the domain are FREE.

Well the phrase 'Rip Off Britain' is well deserved, we have higher than average prices for Fashion Wear, CD's. DVD's, Webhosting, and a whole load of other things oh and close to US$7.65 a gallon for petrol / gas so why should our domain name registrars be any different!. :)
