.fr registration

I've found quite a few free .fr domains I'd like to register, but I have no experience with this TLD. Can anyone suggest a good (and cheap) registrar for .fr. One more thing - I'm not French, there were restrictions for .fr before, but as I 've understood, they should be free to anybody now, right?

My bad. Of course they aren't free. What I ment is whether or not there are any special requirements to register .fr - do I have to be resident and if so, are there any registrars that offer their address as admin contact?

I am pretty sure you have to be a resident, unless something has changed with there requirements recently.

I am sure you need to be a resident, if not there is a fee on purchasing it. Most domain ext's you need to pay for anyhow.

it seems that not only must you live in france , you must own a registered company there to be able to register a .fr domain. If anyone in this forum has a business in france and can register .fr names be sure to send me a pm, I would register some as well, with a nice fee for the person who reg's them.
