Afnic reports 8.2% growth in .fr domain names in 2013
There were 2.72 million .fr domain names at the end of 2013, 8.2 percent more than a year earlier, according to French domain name registry Afnic. The 2013 growth rate for the .fr TLD is slightly higher than the body's 7.1 percent estimated growth on the world market, it is around half the growth rate seen in 2012. Afinc found that .com domains in France grew by only 5.6 percent in 2013. The .fr TLD accounted for 36.5 percent of all French domain names at the end of last year, compared with 36 percent at the end of 2012.
