Forum Design Review Please

As my forum has reached it's 500th post, I am starting to worry that it might be my design that is scaring away a lot of potential members.

Some say it's too hard to find the forum, so I added a bold link at the top that says "Enter Forum"... and some say that the site has a trojan. (I have no ads, no scripts, except for the forum).

I want to know what YOU think of it.

Yeah the link to the forum doesnt stand out too much.

I think you should maybe change the whole appearence of the site. I think it looks a bit dull. That was my first impression when opening it up.
The text seems to blend into the background making it slightly harder to read. And nothing seems to 'stand out' from the background.
