OK, the domain name is TM'ed in the US, but for a different purpose than I want to use it for. It is a latin/greek name. However, the same name is also used in a foreign country, and I don't know if it is TM'ed in that country.

Just a TOTALLY made up example:
Lets say the name is Athenia.com. The name 'Athenia' is a US company with a TM selling barstools. There is a large company in Greece using Athenia for computers, and I don't know if there is a foreign trademark. Can I use Athenia.com to sell computer accessories in the US?

Is this ok?

As long as you aren't pretending to be them, without a doubt, you are fine.
