Established [For Sale] TalkWii.com - Developed Forum, Great SEO

I've made trhe decision to sell www.talkwii.com - a growing forum focused around the hottest gaming topic of the year, the Nintendo Wii.

The domain name itself carries a LOT of value, and was one of my favourites from the premium Wii domains I picked up when the buzz very first hit. Its currently registered til 28/4/07 at Godaddy, and i've had offers around $800+ for the domain alone.

The forum currently comes with some great modifications including enhanced user profiles, post reporting and more. It has also been tweaked for optimal spidering, with both static urls being applied and session ID's for visitors being removed.

As a result of this, TalkWii.com now has 222 indexed pages in Google.

The search engine results for key phrases speak for themselves:

#2 of 31,200,000 for wii forum (google)
#1 of 4,020,000 for talk wii (google)
#6 of 37,100,000 for wii forums (google)

We haven't really advertised ourselves too much aside from a few link exchanges and a very small adwords campaign, in addition here has been very little done to monetize the place, so this could provide a huge opportunity for someone whose skills lie in that area.

So far this month we have had 515 unique visits, with an average of 56 per day. As i'm sure this question will come up, yes, we have ran incentives right here on Namepros to encourage posting, which has been done to both give the forums a kickstart, as well as to increase the number of topics and as such increase the number of pages indexed.

I'm currently accepting all offers for these forums, so if they take your fancy simply send me your best offer via PM or post it right here in this topic.

I can currently only accept payment via paypal - if you purchase these forums both the domain and the forum content will be transfered to you after payment has been recieved.

I'm basically just taking offers as opposed to auction bids. As i've had interest at around $800 for the domain alone i'd be looking for more than the $200 offered, however thanks a lot for the interest =)

Yes, I have every intention of selling the site, otherwise I would have simply posted in the web design section for an appraisal.

Hey, I know you are going to sell it, what I meant was....sometimes people confirm a sale via PM or another forum and don't let other people know. This has happened to me a few times over at sitepoint even though I was prepared to offer more than the final bid.

Ah right I get you, yeah, I'll be sure to notify people once I have an offer than i'm considering settling on - I know how frustrating it can be when you stumble across a listing for a site you're really interesting in buying only to find out it was sold weeks ago

As i've had interest at about $800 for the domain, i'd be looking for around that amount or more(only reason that sale didn't go through was because it was part of a proposed 2-site sale for which I didn't want to sell the other site)

Are there any copyright issues with the "wii" part of the domain?

This thread looks at potential copyright issues with usage of the term 'Wii'. Nintendo have a good track record of never having served C+D letters to sites using trademarked terms etc, so unless you'd plan on turning it into something derogatory then I don't see there being any issue - however its down to yourself to assess the situation.

No idea because as I mentioned in the original post I made no real effort to monetize the place, I didn't even set up a seperate adsense channel, so assume no/minimal revenue to date.
