After a few months at the helm, the time has come for me to sell my beloved forum, Jibber, The Netrepreneur Forum (Internet Entrepreneur -> Netrepreneur).

Forum Stats
As of today there are 108 members and 2060 posts. The forum ranks well in MSN - #1 for some terms including 'Jibber' and 'Netrepreneur' while ranking #3 for 'Webmaster Community'. The community has a very loyal and committed set of moderators.

Traffic
Monthly January - March
Daily (March)

Sale includes
- Custom template
- Custom logo
- 2 domain names (Namecheap) - Jibber.net + The-Webmaster-Forum.com
- The entire contents of the FTP

Additionally
Age of site: 3 months
Revenue: $0 - No advertising

Currently there are some problems in the phpBB system after the forum crashed. All posts have been restored and the forum runs but a few tweaks need to be made to get it back running smoothly. $20 to a phpBB guru would fix it as far as i'm concerned. The site has a full backup as of 3rd March which if can be restored will eliminate all current problems, however my connection times out when uploading as the file is 4mb, I will include this file on the FTP.

Price
Due to the above problem, which would not be nice if I was the buyer, i'm looking for a price of near $400. I am not really looking to auction the forum off so I will sell once an offer of a price I like is received.

If there are any more questions or queries please do not hesitate to ask. I thankyou for looking and hope you will be interested in purchasing the site.

Thanks,

James

Hi James

Nice looking community you have there mate! :D

Couple of questions...

Can you expand on this post I saw please? What's the 'merger' you refer to...

Well it feels like we have been down forever so I feel a reintroduction is almost necessary Razz (although mainly for any new members that may swing by from the recent merger.)

Are any of the posts from paid posters? Will you be removing all the links to jibber from your network of sites? Does the sale include the domain in your sig too? Have you ever tried to monitize the site and if so any stats? Are all the mods aware you're trying to sell and are they happy to stay under the new owner? Will you be starting up a similar project in the future?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm sure answering them will help others too and ultimately sell the site sooner.

Thanks

Lux

PS: Have you tried to sell the site to any members of the current community? Seems like an obvious first step to me. Oh and just any fyi. I noticed a few 'members' are some of our russian friends that love to sign up just to get a link to their latest smut or drug site. Cheers!

Thanks for the questions. I'll do my best to answer each.

Firstly the merger. I recently purchased a forum of similar content in order to merge members into the Jibber forum. The forum purchased is located at http://www.hampsterdied.com currently and this forum will also be included in the sale. The members from that forum have been merged into Jibber. This forum is outdated so was purchased at a somewhat discounted price.

- Originally around 7 or 8 members were from a Namepros promotion to join for NP$, but no paid forum posting as such.
- Links can remain in place if negotiated in the sale.
- 3 domains only are included in the sale (Jibber.net, The-Webmaster-Forum.com, HampsterDied.com)
- The mods (or members) have not been approached about the sale yet. So long as the site goes to good hands I can vouch for their committment to the site.
- Have never attempted to monetize the site so no stats available sorry.
- I have no intention of setting up a site to compete with the content of Jibber.

I've had no trouble from rogue members promoting smut or drugs and all links in profiles have been checked for decency.

The buyer is free to delete these members as they wish but they have not caused any problems and I doubt they gain much from their link anyway.

A lowball offer of $100 has been received but definetly do not want to sell at this. I guess offers could begin from this amount though.

On your site you state the site has been sold for $350. Is this the case?
