Has anyone been reading up on Fog Computing recently? Cisco have brought it to the table to aid the Internet of Things (again).

Anyway, don't know much about it and it's yet another new buzz word to appear this year but I'm starting to get 'registration fatigue' so feel free to look it up and see what's available, although I was surprised at how many FOG related domains have already gone. My two are:

That was the whole point in posting this thread. Cisco are the fastest horse in the IOT race presently, and are investing heavily in the FOG infrastructure and have only this week issued their press releases.

To sum up the FOG, I found this:

'The fog promises to help devices operate if their connection to the cloud is suddenly lost, storing their data for when the connection is re-established.'

Plus I had an offer on Sedo for FogServers! (Admittedly lowball but hey, its only 48 hours old)

Fog is so yesterday, I've been hearing a lot about Smoke lately. Smoke is the new fog.

I've been keeping my eye on the IOT space as well, magicpig. Earlier this week I got FogSupport and
FogSpecialist.....For $6.16 it's far less than what I'd lose in an afternoon in Atlantic City.

Back in 1989 you could find the nerdy kids hanging out in the "computer room" after school having their nerdy little fun with their nerdy little machines and the rest of us would roll our eyes and laugh and laugh......yeah, cuz we all knew those silly boxes weren't anything to take seriously.
