.FM Value

How would you guys value a .FM domain? I have the opportunity to buy a good one word commercial domain, but I'm not really up with what these things are worth?

Nothing. They're brandable for (internet) radio stations, but if it's not for that I wouldn't bother.

It's the branding that attractive to me, so I guess the lesson is, it's not an investment, but buy if you're going to develop a site?

If you are going to develop an online radio station or podcast or something like that then it would be good to get one but other than that I dont think its worth buying them.

:imho: .fm is fighting the same problem as many other extensions such as .vg, .vc, etc. they are not valued as desirable, unless you have one of these huge keywords: poker, law, sex, .... (that's aside from the obvious target market of fm radio stations)

I'm sitting on a few LL.vg myself and can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel...

At the very best, i'd aim for low $xxx for the rare ones (LL/NN), mid $xxx for decent keywords, mid-high $xxx for the great keywords.

The truth is, .fm and .am have the same oppertunities .tv has. Due in part to shear luck, these countries abbreviations are also abbreviations for very popular forms of media. Will .fm approach the neighborhood of .tv? doubtful. But they do possess some value in larger keywords, that make sense, if you assume .fm is radio.

I personally own 1 .fm and 1.am (the same keyword). I have been sitting on it for about 1 and 1/2 years - have i had interest in them? Yes... but for the price of renewal it certainly isnt my best investment.

I would probably stay away, unless I was developing.

I have Coupons.FM, and I like it (I call it the sound of discount). The renewal price is really high!
