I have just purchased few nice .fm domains. This purchase started around 2 months ago and still not finished because of the countless problems with .fm purchase.

Most problems finally finished, but there are a very strange problem left.

According to the dot.fm policy:
5. No Guarantee of Registration, Transfer or Renewal. .... blablabla..... You further acknowledge and agree that dotFM may elect to accept or reject your application for registration, transfer or renewal for any reason at its sole discretion.

They must be crazy.
Basically it means, that they may simply reject me in renewal for no reasons. (for example for posting this thread).

I have already purchased a couple of the .fm domains :'(

So I am just wonder what I can do with it.
As I understand, dot.fm hold licence from ICann for the .fm registry administration. Maybe I should try to contact ICann according this issue.

Now I feel myself completely ripped of :(

The country to whom a ccTLD is assigned to has much latitude in their policies, such as numerous restrictions that one won't find in a gTLDs like .com, .net, etc.

Whois for the .FM ccTLD
http://www.iana.org/root-whois/fm.htm

Contacting ICANN will be of little, to likely, no help at all.

It helps to remember that ccTLDs are just that no matter what the marketing people say ... .FM has nothing to do with radio ... but everything to do with the Federal States of Micronesia...

Your use of .FM is ultimately governed by the laws and rules set forth by the Federal States of Micronesia.

Many ccTLDs contract out with out of country companies to operate their ccTLD, but again, ultimately it's the country to whom the ccTLD is assigned that calls the shots...

If you want something more stable in regards to policy, pricing, renewals, etc than stick with traditional gTLDs, such as .com, .net, etc.

Aside from what Ron said, that term you quoted is common among various
service provider contracts. If you read them, that is.

Just comply with your provider's terms and you'll more or less be okay. If you
don't like it, don't do it.
