Purchasing this domain we are not sure of its sellability. Anyone have any suggestions on how to market this short and easily remembered name. We have never done this before. Thanks for any advice. :gn:

Have you purchased it yet, and if so ... for how much? :talk:
Thanks for the assistance.

I guess they haven't regged it yet.
Offer it to some flag companies (like the ones who sell american flags on flagpoles for $40 at Home Depot) at x5 the registration cost. Pretty risky because of high reg fee, but when you hit the jack pot... B-)

IMO, its not a good domain, because it is not easy to explain. E.g. Flag.com is easy, but "Fl dot ag" most people don't even know that .ag exists.

fl.ag

Hello,

Could anyone tell me what the realistic value of this domain is.

FL.AG

I am new to this area and i've taken this one on as a pet project.

Thanks for any appraisals

Not sure who owns what anymore, but it's listed on Sedo at $5K and has a semi-developed "for sale" page at location.

I think the more realistic value would be $100 - $200
.ag ( http://www.iana.org/root-whois/ag.htm ) isn't a large ccTLD, although not restricted. The country (antigua and barbuda) doesn't have a thriving economy either, not one where the letters themselves would carry much commercial signif.

There is a clever play on letters here (And I do like clever plays), spelling a word with the extension, but I don't think that it would help with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) nor with getting type-in traffic. Highly brandable, perhaps, but "flag.com" or "flags.com" would be infinitely better in that area.

Best of luck to whoever it is that owns this ;)

FL.AG is owned

The name is owned, but requires a specific whois search, most registrars do not support or search the extension, those who do have faulty search tools, though it is a fully accredited and visible TLD

you can see that we own the name by typing in your browser:

FL.AG
or
http://www.FL.AG

It is fully functional.

Thanks for your patience

In that case, thread moved back to appraisals :red:

As noted above, its a good name, and somewhat brandable. But I have yet to see a high-value sale for domains with a similar "creative" use of its extension. As it is without precedent, then actual value is anyone's guess.

Good luck!
