Name says it all...I have a fairly thin ngtld portfolio but when I do purchase ngtlds they have to be dropped premium names on regular renewal pricing. This name makes perfect sense for the ngtld and the generic keyword combination has the search volume to make it worth while. $20.99/yr renewal so its very economical in comparison to other ngtlds. There isn't much ngtld competition other than fishing.shop(which likely has premium renewals and less US searches--->SemRush) and fishing.equipment(insanely good). This is the kind of name you want to have if your buying ngtlds...its marketable, your not forced to think about it and it directly relates to an entire aspect of an industry. The real competition is Fishing.Equipment which is owned by Phil Harris of Synergy Media a well known ngtld domainer who recently sold Vacation.Guide $8,300; Park.Guide $3,500 & Resort.Guide $7,500.00 in September. Fishing.Equipment is a monster domain(definitely has premium renewals)...but I believe Fishing.Tools is the next best fishing name with a more economical maintenance cost, which I believe increases its value.
Anyone not bullish on ngtlds has to realize that for each ngtld there is a select set of top names. Those top names have search volumes of 1k+ and are normally held by registries as premium names. These names also fit the ngtld and directly relate to keyword phrases. Every other reg is a domainer thinking that .com rules apply to ngtlds, when in fact the only thing that matters at the present time is the keyword combination, search volume and the brandability of the keyword combination if there isn't significant search volume, like Vaction, Resort, Park .Guide.
