may be, but there can also be fishnchips, plus the other extensions besides .co.uk, plus having to explain that the their website spells with "an" instead of "and"

So takes the short version of fishandchips.co.uk which is a site running.
And wants to make something?
Or retire on selling the domain for big bucks?

Nope, value is zip, no matter how much you like it and how you just love the an instead of and and the fact that you are trying to sponge off the above domain and site.

I am not trying to sponge off the above domain , fish and chips is a meal not a trademark , i would love to have "and" but i couldn't so i settled for "an" which how we pronounce it anyway , it is just an idea for a domain name . Another thing the mentioned site uses "n" instead of "an" .

please also note that there will be a limited interest for online presence for "fish and chips" niche, since it is likely has to be a physical business not an online store, thus limiting the number of people interested to U.K. physical fish and chips business.
That is compared to say coolgadgets.co.uk that can be operated from anywhere in the world, thus appealing to a much wider end user audience.

I am based in the UK and actually live near and fish and chip shop but in all seriousness most of fish and chip shops get almost 99 percent of their visitors offline (Locals). Only time someone goes on-line to type "fish and chips" is to locate the nearest shop. This is not like Chinese or indian food where you can even order on-line ? These style of chips get so cold and soggy fast and you really do not want to get a cold cod.
There is a reason why competition for the keywords "fish and chips is low" your domain has 28 exacts even if you can get all 28 people to travel across the uk to your shop at $6 a meal do you think it is worth it?
or maybe you will like the chip guy to pay for branding and Google advertising?

Yes the internet is a great platform but a lot of business still do great without the net so try convincing the guy at the chippy to spend his hard earn cash on a chippy website, chippy branding and chippy adwords he did tell you to go fly a kite.

My opinion only

I don't have to convince anybody :hehe: , it costs me nothing will keep it for the future , that's what we call in the stock market speculation .

I think the major issue of this is that, in the past two decades in the UK, I have certainly never seen the dish spelt 'fish an chips'.

'Fish n Chips' or 'Fish and Chips' certainly, but never with the 'an'.

It sounds kind of like the way the other half says it, but that's just because she's northern - and that really isn't her fault. ;)

You'd be lucky to find a buyer for the domain - as richface pointed out, the vast majority of fish and chip shop customers are either local or pick up the best fish and chip shops through word of mouth. Even when I was working in London, which is perhaps one of the least 'close-knit' cities in the UK due to its diversity, this was always the case.

Best of luck with your domain though, I wish you all the best.

This is a name you test for traffic before putting up in the appraisal section, as its traffic is probably its only worth. Once you let the world know about it here your traffic is now questionable.

Please remember that members donate their time for free to provide appraisals to other members. It's common sometimes to receive a $0 or reg fee appraisal, please don't take it personally and keep in mind that people tend to use different valuing systems.

Just check on google keyword tool for the exacts for the particular country you are registering in to see what the exacts are before purchasing a domain.....if it has low exacts then you wont get any type in traffic and any value will come in branding and development which means $0 to begin with until you add the value.....

Good luck with it though......

As is...reg fee to low xx

Made me hungry though now......bit early for fish and chips but defo need food!
