Hello, I want to sell some good domain names.
I guess this is called Domain Flipping.
Can anyone give me any suggestions or tutorials to watch?
I'm happy I found this website.

Welcome! Buying and selling domains is quite fun.
I learned by doing: registering domains, and buying/selling them on here namepros and other webmaster forums.

My advice is to start out with small investments, 10-20 domains. Try to sell or develop them. Don't go crazy and buy 100s of domains and then get burned from renewal fees.

The best to learn is this forum, you could for example post the "good domain names" you are talking about and someone with experience can give his feedback on them.

First of all, welcome to Namepros. I would recommend you read as many different posts on here(there is gold all over this forum). A couple threads on here that I like to check frequently: "How to Find Potential End Users?" and "Report Completed Domain Sales Here".

Read some blogs like RicksBlog.com, ElliotsBlog.com, Domaining.com ,7mile.com,etc.. (many more that I can't remember). Check out DnJournal.com for weekly sales reports and Namebio.com for past sales reports.

Be careful, once you start, it's hard as hell to stop ;)

Try to avoid the domainer blogs as most of them blog with vested interest and mostly promote the fields that they have invested in. You will most likely hear things like 3d is the next big thing, NFC is dead etc. Don't fall for their trap. Also most of them are in the field for long and have a good portfolio they could aquire for low price. So you may not be able to replicate their success. But surely its good to read as some of them do share their mistakes.

It is better to start with domain market places like sedo, godaddy auctions etc and see what names are selling and for what price.
Or even visit the Namepros market place to check what are the general reseller price (though take these sale prices with a grain of salt).

Domainer blogs are good to at least get a feel or what's going on in the industry.

I've learned the most on Namepros, just reading through random threads.

I also like checking weekly sales and such so I can get a feel of what sells.

Stay away from:

Most domain auctioneers, especially Snapnames, the largest admitted auction fraudster in domain history. Also, I'd stay away from Flippa, DNJournal.com, DNF, and Sedo.

Those are the ones I've had negative experience with.

Hi JustOne! welcome to NP's

Domain flipping is part skill part timing and part luck.

When you start out there will be so much information everywhere it's easy to start buying names because you feel you can make some quick money. This however is not the case. it's both hit and miss and takes work on your part to actively promote and invest in a domain like a salesman.

You've taken the first best step you possibly could. Starting at NP's forum. I'd say - check out some threads start reading, researching and getting active in the community. You'll find a host of rich information and skilled people with good experience to help you out along the way.

Good luck!
