offer via EFTY lander
domain is two-word .COM
buyer is outside the US

While it is possible the buyer is making an offer in a foreign currency which translated into USD is $XXX, I seriously doubt this offer is legit.

Regardless, we will play along and see how serious they are. I did respond to the buyer indicating offers must be in USD.

I have a minimum 2K offer on DomainNameSales and sometimes when the buyer see it replies with 10-11 figure digits... I always refuse them saying I don't like low-ballers

Lol. Since the topic is with the $ sign I thought that the actual offer came in USD. But when I reading the post I realised it is in another currency. May be Zimbabwe Dollar. :xf.confused:

The EFTY landers do result in far more inbound inquiries than was previously the case.

However, most are either lowball offers or mistakes - people filling out the form but not understanding that a domain name is for sale and that offers should be submitted in US dollars. In some cases, people were looking for jobs (on a job-related keyword) and they input their desired salary. In another case (real estate domain), the "offer" was how much the individual was willing to pay for rent. I have a number of Spanish domains but the landers are in English so the instruction to submit offers in dollars may not be clear to individuals whose primarily language is not English.

I now have my first $500 million offer - for a cryptocurrency domain.

Should I counter :) ?

While it is a confirmed EFTY offer, I don't believe it is legit.

Do you remember planes trains and automobiles ,anyone who would pay 500,000,000 for a domain name would certainly pay a billion

Only a few hours later I get another million plus offer for a real estate domain. It may be a legit offer but the buyer is from Medellin, Colombia so the offer is likely in Colombian pesos which would translate into mid-US$XXX.
