Neat idea, but the site is hopelessly overloaded. The top of your site is extremely crowded, users (unless they know exactly where to look at) have to look twice to find the login/password fields.
Space the placement out a bit.
You've done your homework, that's for sure; you have tons of categories, THANKFULLY also a search function, though.

I'm not sure if you actually could make the categorization easier to look at or browse through, especially with the wealth of uploads/information you have there. I like the visualization of the "virtual" file folder, i wonder if you could actually have them lined up side by side and make them expandable? (not 100% sure if that's the true solution though)
Put a counter beside the main headers that shows how many files there are listed in each category, some of your categories are still empty, it would simply take away the frustration/empty clicks from a user to click on a category and find nothing in it. Maybe add a teaser into the empty category or next to the empty category to encourage users to upload into an empty category.
I'm looking forward to the review section being done and have actual user opinions for each file.
Awesome idea with the mouse over magnification!
The site itself, once arrived at the file of my choice, handles very intuitively and gives users relatively easy handling of the content.
All in all, my only concern is the start page/home page that's very crowded, other than that, great site, great ability to host huge content.
