..................Fig.ht

I have put the domain name www.Fig.ht up for sale on eBay.

The selling price is £3,500 (circa. $5,500 at todays exchange rates), although there is an option to make offers.

The buyer should have or should open a domain account at IPMirror.com where the domain is registered until 03/2013.

If you have any questions please post them or PM me.

Please note this thread is not for making offers or debating the value of the domain.

The 'Make Offer' option has now been removed from the Fig.ht eBay listing, from here on in it is a straight forward 'Buy-it-Now' sale.

I've been asked why I would put such a domain on eBay. There are several reasons but do include the following:

- At the cost of approx. $1 a month for the listing it is cheap enough that really the annual cost made up of just re-listing the domain sale (circa. $12) is more than economic for such a domain.

- The 'general public' get to see the domain name, indeed over time it should gather just a little bit of traction as people will remember seeing it on a previous visit and because the domain is sooooo memorable they will either look it up or when coming across it again will recall clearly seeing it previously.

- I have offered the domain on here and 'another' forum for sale but there were no takers, a few nay-sayers and a few supporters, but no takers.

- Why is the price so low now? actually the price is at the maximum we are allowed to set for a single item, and I am not going to waste my time trying to explain to some 'phone operative' at eBay the value of domains. We will make a small profit at the present price, and that is all that can be asked for in life.

- Why previously did you have a 'make offer' option which you have since taken down? The reason is simple, I had a window of opportunity to take part in something else, that 'window' has now closed and since this is basically a give away price there is no point selling it cheaper.

- Would you put it to auction on eBay? I probably would if someone offered a reasonable amount to start the auction off, but that is unlikely as most domainers have been given the opportunity (here and on another forum) to make me offers for the domain.

- Will you keep it on eBay? Yes, I will renew it when the time comes around and just keep it listed until it sells, today, tomorrow, next month, next year, or even in 10 years time. (NB. Even if we had to list it for 10 years the cost of doing so would only be about $120 in total, and anyway when our limits are raised the sale price will be going up substantially.)

Hope that covers everything people have been asking about. :)
