i want to really like it, but some combination of the scientificness and the plural gives me some pause on what the right end-user would be. it is not a word that is naturally used on the consumer side. Maybe medical....

That said, it is a generic term for 50% of the human population, so...

XXX to low XXXX today; solidly XXXX in 1-2 yrs if .tv comes into prominence as we believe.

I think it's ok but not great by any stretch.

ok sure, its generic but to me has no obvious end user potential and in particular, to the obvious uses for the .tv extension.

Mind you someone has forked out premium $ for women.tv (which I think is superior) but still can't see huge commercial application for either.

The plural also kills it a bit and the words gets less common usage than woman/man women/men.

So, not being any expert, I would say:

Now: Reg Fee- low $XXX
Future: Low $XXX --> whatever someone is prepared to pay for it (but most likely mid $XXX)

Personally I can't see $XXXX or higher, but then again I have some that are equally generic and not particularly well suited to the .tv extension in the hope that .tv becomes the new .com!
