Any commenst on this domain? I figured with the amount of people in this country seeking some sort of federal aid, whether for housing, Medicare etc, this time might fetch mid x,xxx.

Am I being overly optimistic or does anyone here think this is a true gem?

Thank you all in advance!

4 figures seems a bit high, but i could definitely see this pulling mid 3 figures. You might try shopping it to some of those people who sell "Government Grant Info" books. They're probably the only market the domain would be any good for IMO

Good advice and thank you very much.

I just think that it's such a popular term, 60 million Google searcehs, high OVT with extension etc etc. that it could get 4-5K offer

True, BUT, there is somewhat of an obvious monopoly when it comes to Federal Aid, that being the federal government. Regardless of what domain you have, you're gonna have a hard time beating out studentaid.ed.gov and fafsa.ed.gov in google or yahoo (not to mention all the other government sites related to federal aid). Not that there isn't money in the industry, it is just that the term 'Federal Aid' is most commonly affiliated with the College Loan programs rather than with grants in general.

That is true and something that crosssed my mid before--I still think one of my potential end-users WOULD BE the federal government and precisely those types of organizations.

I just think FederalAid.net is so much cleaner than ...ed.gov etc. I also think this is a domain that goes better with the .net extension--as if the searcher is looking for sources of federal aid on the Net--like Grants, Loans, etc.

Good points though and thank you for your opinion!

People equate .gov with the federal government and besides, they already have the top results in Google and Yahoo! for 'federal aid'. The government operates on .gov for a good reason and trying to sell them a .net domain is futile (even if for some absurd reason they wanted to purchase a non-.gov, the logical choice would be for them to go the .com).
Try developing as an info site or selling to one of the companies that sells guides on getting federal grants. Don't waste time on the federal government.

Could be developed as a nice portal for directions to grants and loans... as for the Federals using .gov, even I nearly always forget they use that extension and I bet the majority of other users do as well. That said, it would have been better as a .com or .info possibly if you look at it that way.

Being from Florida and living through some pretty big storms, my first thought when I saw this domain was a site for people trying to find some type of disaster relief. I think there's a huge market now, considering (unfortunately) there have been so many disasters. Even as just a resource site, I think it has the potential to make money from links and advertising.

I believe this domain to be worth at least mid-to-high $xxx's. (IMO)

Good luck with it, gericsb
