True, Fast.tv is a very good domain. However, due to the high renewal fee, you can double it price only if you have a solid plan.

Its only been a few years that I have made my sole income from the Internet. I didn't get here by making one or two bets. I made it here through my successes and failures. Without failure, you will never have long term, sustainable success.

Fast.tv was but one premium name and Internet related project I am involved in. I recently received a text message from a close friend on this forum, inquiring why I had not attempted to sell the name myself. Based on some posts in this thread, some of you are thinking the same thing.

The short answer is that several of my other projects are taking off. Looked at in isolation, the sale of Fast.tv was a huge financial loss, but don't read into it too much.

Fast.tv was but one of more than 80 premium, keyword .tv domains that I acquired over the past 3 years. Domaining is but a single activity that I am involved in with respect to the Internet. My other projects have taken off in a way that I no longer have time to commit to finding the right buyer for the name, expanding my portfolio, or dealing with names that have potential but require a lot of time or work. I would be perfectly find if I didn't buy another domain name going forward.

As I mentioned in another thread:

I bought 500+ domains to survey and preserve the opportunities that they represented. Once I identified those that represented the best opportunities for me, then the costs for acquiring all of the other domains simply represented opportunity costs [to get where I am today. How much would you pay for three year's worth of knowledge and opportunity? I can tell you the education I have received is far greater than that I could have received by attending some post-graduate school.

Why should I be selfish when I don't have the time to put the name to better use? If another member (in this case MindWrecker) sells the domain to a corporation and they build some bitchin website, then don't we all gain?

MindWrecker gets some cash for his hard work and .tv gets some serious exposure, which benefits all of us (including those like me with some real .tv gems).

I am not here to try and make the most money. I am here to learn how to generate the most income for the least amount of effort so I can enjoy my life. Fortunately, I don't have to wait to retire to start enjoying it. I am enjoying it now!

I take a portfolio approach to all of my businesses so I expect losses. That is just part of the game. I subscribe to these mantras:

Big risk, big reward (i.e. you have to go big to win big)
If you always play it safe, then you will always be safe

Of all the people who could have purchased this domain for $1, I am very pleased that MindWrecker had the courage to take on this challenge. I am confident that he truly has the ability to attract a big fish and I know he is not going to let the opportunity pass him by. If he doesn't sell it, then what has he really lost? I can guarantee you the experience he will take away from seeking a buyer for this domain name will be worth more than his time plus a dollar. It will be invaluable.
