Fake Sale?

I woke up today and found that I had a domain sale through GiantNames.com with the Domain Seller Pro (DSP) system. However, my replies to complete the sale keep bouncing back. The buyer is supposedly from Brazil and they used wrh.com as their email address. The funny thing is that wrh.com is a hospital in Georgia!

The name looks a little fake too, but I wont post it in the off chance that it is a legitimate sale.

This happened to anybody before and can something be done about it? The sale logged their IP address.

I've had fake sales/purchases before. It may be someone just fooling around.

Did you try Googling the buyer's name?

Ah ok.

Yea, its just 4 letters that dont make sense twice. Although some people do have the same first name and last name, its rare.

Anyway to check on the IP?

Had a fake offer for a name parked at Fabulous-2 offers, in fact. Interesting... one name traced back to Brazil, also. That activity really sucks and am sorry to see it going on.

Yeppers.
RJ (and I believe, Armstong too) have the site "link" for IP checking, good 'Ogre. I'm the technical weakling of the bunch, so I'll ask them to pay a visit here (or PM you).
We'll find that dude for 'ya, good buddy.

offers

I've had several offers on domains through Fabulous. Some of the buyers got right down to the nitty gritty promising to send the money...that they sent the money already etc..

I think some young kids use their parents e-mail and make bogus offers.

The only place that I trust to make legit offers is at Afternic.com I've had many successful sales through them.

I have no problems w/ Fabulous. I know what I am getting and affiliate marketing is highly flexible there. The only drawback, that I can see, is that offers are made directly to owner via unconfirmed email and not through Fabulous, but this is a fair shake for no commission on sales which allows lower pricing of names.

Wow forgot about this thread lol.

Yea, I never did get a response from the guy. It happened again recently, but it was a real email address . However, I am happy to report though that I have had real sales through GiantNames.com after both bogus offers :).

Thanks for the link, RJ.
