Sold on Sedo today. €46,501 with 33 bids > a whopping $67,850

"Faire-Part" in French means: announcement or declaration (of birth, marriage...). Overture: 1,192; 7 million Google results.

I think this sale is encouraging for strong keyword hyphenated domain names. Search engines, end users or developers do not place as much importance on hyphens than domainers do. In fact, they sometimes favour hypens that seperate well (visually) two commercial words that marry well together.

I will now try and sell: Shopping-Center.com (taken in over 100 extensions, great Overture 55,758, 17 million google results with quotes).

.US domains.US domains
This is unique to the market in France where dashes are used maybe 20% of the time in domain names.

Shopping-Center.com is a good name though, specific to the usa only, but good.

I wish it was :) But I can't complain... made tons of end user sales lately (ares.net 20k, goflights.com $10k, amatrice.com $9k...).

Congrats to buyer and seller for this very nice sale.

That's such a high price for that domain name, which in my opinion is not worth it.

Great sale! :imho: it's not worth what it sold for.

And GREAT domain (shopping-center.com)

:)

The domain name is not worth that much to YOU.

But remember that the actual value of any given domain is equal to the amount the buyer is willing to pay. Domainer prices are much lower than developer/end user prices.

To the buyer of Faire-Part.com (end user), the domain is worth every dollar of $65,000.

Thats a VERY NICE sale ....which just goes to prove a domain is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Appraisals are "near" worthless for the most part but its always nice to hear other peoples thoughts and opinions.

Most people (including me) would say 18-wheeler.com was waaay too high selling at $82,390 but it found that one person who was willing to pay for it.

I have 2 hyphen domains that I would'nt sell for anything less than high xx,xxx to low xxx,xxx - will they ever sell ? ...who knows, maybe not, one of them is a 1998 reg & the other is a 1999 reg, one is renewed until 2011 so I'm willing to wait it out a few more years to find out.

Not everyone hates hyphens, Germans don't mind a hyphen domain but seem to prefer their own country extension.

Great sale and good news for any domainer :tu:

Exactly, couldn't agree with you more.

Please PM your 2 hyphen domains; I may just reinvest some of my end user sales... ;)
