I got an email from an end user asking if I would like to sell this domain. How much should I tell them?

http://EstiBot.com Domain Appraisal : USD 70

Since this has major TM issues if you do anything social web related, I'd say that $70 would be the high end. GL

Yes that is all fine and dandy, if you as a domainer wanted to buy this from me, $70 would be the high end of what you might pay. However my question was what would this domain be worth to an End User and how much should I quote this person? What is a reasonable maximum I might expect somebody to pay for this domain?

I think you will struggle with this domain because of the TM factor

some advice...you best steer clear of names like this in future

Good luck though

Obviously the person who emailed me doesn't care about the TM issues, they also do not care about the low Google results, they like it. I didn't list it anywhere either, they looked up the domain, saw it was reg'd and emailed me.

HOW MUCH WILL THEY PAY

ask them how much they want to buy and negotiate based on their price...

Its impossible to say, have you done any research on the email address to try find out who it is. We dont know anything about this reseller/end-user person??????

Without knowing that, I would say go in at $200 and see what happens.

Yes they are a software developer and do not appear to own any other websites or domains, at least not ones I could find via their name or email address.

Thanks for the target number.

Somebody else suggested seeing how much they'd offer. How could I word this? That is a good point. I remember some famous quote that is lost on me now but it is something like in business you never make the first offer, always let the other guy do it. Like poker, best to be the last person to act. So how would I word that?

'Dear Sir,

Thank you for your interest in my domain. I may be interested in selling this domain, however when I purchased it I had plans to possibly develop the site myself. You can make me an offer if you like, I might be willing to let it go'

Something like that? Or more direct?

Beware of appraisal scams. They may ask you to pay for an appraisal.

This thread is evidence of your awareness of the TM issues. If facebook come after your buyer, my understanding is that you could liable as the seller. I would let the name expire. I agree w. previous advice - stay away from TM names.

Looks like the appraisal scam.
Something along these lines ?
Hello,

Your domain name has been found online.

Please let us know your price.

We make money on selling and buying names and sites. Now the domain business is very attractive.

Looking forward to do business with you.

I don't think this name is worth anything - notwithstanding the TM issues it's plain useless. Why would someone want to buy it ?

Most probably it's a scam .. Why does he want your account info so soon?

It's a Nigerian scam to swindle your bank account

My company has an online retail website, selling home decor oriented products. We receive almost daily emails (mostly from Nigeria) asking about buying our products. They usually ask for our banking info so they can pay that way. We don't even bother to reply to these as we know about these banking scams, we just hit the Junk button.

Am I the only one who realises PokerPie was being sarcastic about that Nigerian email, at least I hope he is being sarcastic.

I'm pretty sure it's a scam.
By the way highest price for an end user would be $70-80, not more.
