I found a list of expired daily domain names at(http://www.wsmdomains.com/ExpiredDomains/25may2006.txt)

I entered a couple of ones I found interesting in godaddy - of course they're taken but no whois contact record appears. However when I click on the accompanying Underlying Registry Data link below it shows that the domains were registered by someone else the actual day they dropped and will now expire in May 2007.

What I find strange is that all the domains have similar registrars or dns information (ie. oregonnames, finduaname, udamain, etc...) but what I find even weirder is that after typing in about a hundred of the most ridiculous sounding, uber long, junk domain names, ALL of them seem to have been registered!

Now can someone tell me how it is possible for someone to buy up all these domains? There must be thousands and thousands on that list alone (which only list the May 25 domains to be dropped) not to mention oodles of useless names that aren't worth squat.

I haven't been able to find more than 10 domains in that list that are available for registration.

Does anyone know what's going on?

"Tasting" the entire drop lists are being picked up and tasted for traffic and redroped. This is actually happening two or three times. As in once one gets done tasting another will pick them up and taste aswell.

thanks for the info. Any clue as to how long these domains get tasted for and dropped back to the public?

They have to be deleted with 5 days but when they redrop is random.
