What happens after a name expires at Dotster?

Does Dotster have its own auction platform or can they be backordered?

I'm not aware of Dotster having their own auction platform. Any domain can be backordered, anywhere.

Yes, any domain can be backordered anywhere but what is the point of backordering an expiring domain if it will not reach pending delete? If you backorder a Dotster domain at namejet or godaddy you have zero chance getting the domain unless nobody buys it during the first auction which will happen exclusively on snapnames.

All expired Dotster domains go first to snapnames pre-release auction.

I didn't know Dotster had tied up with SnapNames. I agree with Erdinc. You need to buy this when it is in Pre-Release phase at SnapNames. That a $69 purchase. If you don't want to pay that much, just wait until it drops, and register it for regfee.
