Ok, so I come from a generous background of information about the expired domain pickup process. I am about to invest serious money into this process & would like advice - possible partner opportunity.
I have been sucesful at buying expired domains as soon as they come available. Using ENOM's API, a reseller account & custom coding, I have found the areas that make sites such as pool, drop scout (and similar), including fresh drop. It's mostly timing, tools & the resources available.
As I've moved on to compete for the most popular name drops, the competition is insane. I was able to compete for names that weren't premium although, I considered them premium at first. The real premium ones as seen on pool are next to impossible to catch as they drop.
Perhaps my team & I are newbies although we've been in business for over 10 years. We're about to invest in 100 blade servers with 4 NIC cards each & plan on using this LAMP platform to hammer away on expired domains as they become available.
At 2pm Pacific USA time, the expired domains become available for a brief 1-2 seconds. We've won some battles but mostly lost all between this split second.
With 100 servers & 4 Network cards each hammering simutaneously at the drop, and try to buy the domain instantly. Is this close to being able to compete with the top dogs?
Our watch list has an alert for a stream of premium domains soon to expire & monitor the process period.
Does the registry have a lot to do with this? Like I mentoned above, looking to partner and make this the next new thing. We're tired of getting shut down for being the little guys & getting beat up by the big boys.
Good luck to everyone with their experience trying o pickup expired domains.
