I recently transferred out of ev1. Just make sure your admin email is up to date or you might run into some complications. Make sure you have domain lock off.

Where did you transfer them to? Can you send them to a namecheap account? Also, how did you?

Thanks.

EV1 uses OpenSRS's backend, so transferring away from their system will be no problem, as long as the domain is 60 days old.

They also have a very simple ownership transfer process.

I transferred to godaddy.com but im pretty sure namecheap wouldnt be a problem either. If you want to penny pinch for a year you can transfer it to netsol and get a year free then wait 60 days, then transfer to namecheap! I might start using ev1 a little more to save money cuz it sure does save alot at $5.xx

I've been thinking about purchasing some domains through EV1 but was also concerned about the renewal rate and the transfers. If the rate goes up a year from now (which it most likely will) I would probably transfer to GoDaddy and they give 1 year free renewal when you transfer to them right? (well you pay about $8 for the transfer itself). I wanted to make sure I won't have trouble later on b4 i register those domains at ev1

Yes, I am very interested in finding this out as well. I recently needed to purchase 5 domains and ev1's price was just too good to pass up. wondering what to do in a year though.

No no no my friend. GoDaddy will never give you a free year for transferring. NSI is doing that right now because of some quota or marketing thing. If you want to play cheap like me here is what to do. Transfer all the domains that you plan to keep and not sale, trade etc.. to NSI to take advantage of the free year they are giving away. MAKE sure your domain has been sitting for at least 60 days with the losing registrar or transfer anywhere is not possible. After your domains have sat at NSI for at least 60 days, switch them all out to another registrar before NSI starts asking you for a renewal. I have transferred out of NSI before without any complications and I am hoping this time will be no different. If there are any complications, I figure 10 months should be enough time to get it fixed.
