EV1 reaches 100,000 registrations

The Whir is reporting EV1 has reaches 100,000 registrations

(ev1servers) announced on Monday that it has completed its 100,000th domain registration; a milestone reached six months after the company began offering discount domains.

Interesting. How long did it take GoDaddy to reach 100,000? Anyone know?

They do about 130,000 registrations per month

That's cheap.. So far I've been paying the extra buck fifty at GoDaddy because I trust them and find it easy to transfer names to others with their system.

Has anyone here used EV1 to transfer names to others? How did the transfer process go?

OpenSRS system which EV1 uses is a bit clumsy with mass changes such as DNS or Contact updates however it is also very easy to push to other accounts and maintain the names. We have around 200+ names with EV1 and compared to their dedicated services, I think it much better.

I think GoDaddy's transfer system is horrible. Its more secure but sometimes you need to "train" your buyer how to accept the domain. I like the eNom "push" wham bam thank you maam :D (ev1 transfers are easy)

Does EV1 have forwarding options? If so, how about CNAME forwarding?
GoDaddy does not have CNAME but ENOM does.

Transfers may be easy there, but EV1's interface has got to be the worst one out there.
