Hi everyone

Im a newbie who lives on an island called Papa Westray which is in Orkney, Scotland. A few months ago i bought three domains, papawestray.eu , westray.eu , and visitorkney.eu from a company called Euro DNS. :td:

i would like to move these names to someone who could host for me ,but i just cannot figure it out. I've mailed several hosting companies in the U.K about transferring the names but not one has replied :(

any help would be most appreciated but please not to technical !!

many thanks

All you have to do is change the nameservers to whatever the host provides you.

Put it this way:

1. Sign up for whatever webhost you are interested in

2. You will get your welcome email.

3. The second email should be your account setup email which takes however long the company takes to setup the account. This email should have your account info including what the nameservers are.

4. Login to EuroDNS & change the nameservers to match what the host provides you. Eventually the changes will kick in & your site will be live to everyone. Do the following:

Login to your account & choose "DNS Profiles" & follow that up by choosing "Add a new DNS profile" & filling out that form with whatever you want to call the profile & entering the nameservers from your host. When you are done with this, go to my account, click the details icon & click modify under nameservers, choose the profile you just made & submit it.

I can't get them to change. Keeps giving me an error saying that you can't set the nameservers there (which you can). I emailed them with my problem. I managed to change the DNS to NameDrive.com but not to my server :/

Depending on your domains extension, a lot of hosting places can't handle them all, .hu especially.

Well if the nameservrs can be set to NameDrive, they should be able to be set to my host, right?

I had problems with eurodns when using nameservers that had the same ip address.

I've had numerous problems trying to set nameservers on EuroDNS.. so far the only nameserver I've been able to use is SEDO's which, of course, is unacceptable.. I haven't been able to use my own hosting servers and get canned responses from EuroDNS.

Absolutely not.

Understand that namedrive is set up specifically to host multiple domain name extensions.

Most hosting companies are not.

I do not know if there are specific server settings that .co.uk requires, but it is possible that there are specific settings that are required.

Well there is your problem.

It's not a EuroDNS issue.

Get a hosting company, then use the NameServers the hosting company provides in EuroDNS as outlined by another poster above.

May I also suggest that in the future, you research a bit prior to posting a derogatory thread about another company. It's just good practice.

EuroDNS also charge to change the nameservers on most extensions and its not cheap!
