What a great game. Germany deserved to win... They looked like a new team when comparing to previous games.

The Germans played really well and they really deserve to win. I think ballack goal wasnt a illegal want. All he did was just a slight touch didnt really cause any contact to ferriera

Although it wasn't a strong push it was enough to make Ferreira not get to the ball. If the ref had seen it, it it would have been a foul. Players do this all the time and many times they get away with it. Still from what I saw, Portugal did not play so well and I accept the German victory as correct.

I actually like watching soccer and im from the U.S. its kind of exciting seeing all the fans going nuts and lat scoring. Plus espn carries it so its on everyday here. I dont have a team im rooting for just watching

It was definitely more than just a little push. Ballack wouldn't have gotten to the ball this clean w/o the push, which makes this a clear foul. However, as Frank already said, players "fall" all the time and turn into delayed drama queens.
It's by far not a perfect game, the efforts of the refs were really bad so far. Thankfully, some of the games more than made up for it.
The Germans have played the better game overall i think and deserved to move on. As usual, they have an extremely slow start, and if you leave them alive and breathing they gain momentum, at which case, they start steam rolling over everyone.

Thanks Frank, although I'm highly dissapointed that my team lost, I am a great fan of good football no matter where it comes from.

Players are constantly trying to fool refs and because there's 22 against 4 refs, they succeed many many times.

As regards the foul, it was.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I observed many teams that take the 3rd match easier, loose the match in the quarterfinals. Portugal played with their second team with Switzerland and lost 0-2, and I think players lost focus.

holland played also with their "2nd" team, but they won. I am very interested to see how will they perform against Russia. This was my argument why I said Russia will qualify over Holland on Saturday. Russia may be more tired (like Germans), but they are more concentrated, more focused on the other hand.

Overall with Germany;s victory this tournament lost one of its most spectacular teams. Maybe a bit immature, but really spectacular. I think Portugal has a wonderful generation with Nani, Ronaldo, Quaresma etc.

About that push, it shows the difference between a more experiencing player and others. To me, the defender was not play well. He and Ballack are teammates in chelsea (if I am not mistaken), he must know how experiencing Ballack is and he must know how to block Ballack (of course, the coach must do the same).
It is a part of football, don't claim it as a clear foul. That's why we don't have a replay camera to help referee making decision.

It is a wonderful goal: nice ball sent, nice head, nice push... everything was just happening at the right time.

It was a great game but I still fancy Italy to win the whole thing. Their passing is just out of this world. They didnt impress in the group stages but for some reason I just cant see them losing to spain.

i think that there is no way that Croatia beat Germany, its not the same group

stage and Semi final, yesterday Germany surprise everyone, that ware so

stable in defence and so good in counter attack. Croatia is good team, but i

think that thay dont have quality for final of Euro. One thing that i like is that

this Euro is much more interesting then last one.

Today's match is just to see who will lose against Germany. Germany is already in the final. And you know, when they reach the final... end of the story.

I hope to be wrong. I'd like Spain, Holland or even Croatian to win the championship. Sooo tired to see sad (though effective) football played by germans and italians.

I guess Im just a lover of fantasy football. I guess in Germany or in Italy it does not matter if you play well or bad as long as you win.

Things in Spain are different and I believe it is different in Holland too
