I have several .eu domains.

Our business is in the US but we also have a presence in the UK and have a legitimate LTD.

We recently had an inquiry regarding one of our .eu domains.

If we wanted to sell one of our .eu's and push it through GD and allow the buyer to just change the email addy, would that be sufficient for the .eu registar?

Thanks for your comments.

You can't push .eu domains as you can do with .com domains with GD. You need to contact the change department at change(at)godaddy.com to make this happen.

When things have been set in motion you should receive an confirmation email from Eurid for the ownership transfer.
In that case i don't think you can leave your own personal details.

If the buyer is from outside the European union and does not hold a business in Europe he/she could use Hostway as a proxy.

Natural persons resident within the European Community.*If Registrant does not have local EU presence, a proxy service may be provided by DomainPeople where permitted.

Inquire through Hostway.co.uk for more information about this option.

I would watch out as they appear to use the same system as a .be:

1.What is a trade/transfer?

A trade is when the ownership of a domain name changes hands.

A transfer is when the management of a domain name changes hands.

2. What do I need to do when trading/transferring my domain name(s)?

Trade:

If you would like to sell your domain name to another party is up to that party to request a trade. The request is initiated by an accredited registrar who is authorized by the new owner to make the request on his behalf.

Once EURid has received the trade request, 2 emails are issued. One email is sent to the current owner of the domain, and the other email is sent to the future owner of the domain. Both parties then have to confirm (via a link in the email) that they want the trade to proceed. If, after 7 days, neither (or only one) of the parties has confirmed the trade, a new email is sent out to the registrar (which was selected by the future owner to be the manager of the domain he will shortly own) informing him that confirmations are still outstanding. It is then up to the registrar to inform the relevant parties that confirmation is still needed. If, 7 days after the 2nd email was issued, either party has still failed to confirm the trade, the trade is cancelled. If however both parties have confirmed timely the trade is carried out โ€“ either 5 โ€“ 7 working days after the confirmations have been received or on the future date that was requested by the new owner.

Note: The new registrar is charged for the execution of a trade and he is only charged if the name is successfully traded.

That could be a problem as EURid may be forced to crack down on proxy and fraudulent registrations. It would be far safer to use a UK registered front company (as the bogus registrars have done).

It's more a local presence service (Domocile) and not a privacy shielding service like Domains by Proxy. I don't think Hostway will offer services that is against Eurid's regulations.

What the ins and outs are of this service i don't know but i am sure they will be happy to explain.

Has anyone ever successfully 'pushed', NOT transferred, but pushed a .EU name through GD? I tried, hard, and ended up losing the sale over it. GD would not let me do it, and they were actually down right rude about it. So much so that I have been in the process of transferring all of my domains out ever since...

As Damion said you cannot push a .eu and the same holds true for many ccTLDs. .eu works in the same fashion as .be (run by more or less the same people).
Technically registrars could allow internal domain push from one account to another (as with Eurodns for .be for example) but this will not change the legal owner.
You have to do the TRADE procedure via registry.

You need to get acquainted with the rules: http://www.eurid.eu/en/general/howToGetEuDomainName/transfers

Thanks. I will say that I did push .eu names with Moniker, but perhaps it is as you said, that it didn't "legally" change. I never did follow up so I don't know...
