i have spent about an hour trying to post a full comprehensive list on here explaining why i bought this website, research i have done etc. but i keep getting an error saying i cant post links. despite not posting any links. i will slowly edit this message with more information.

1. Acquisition Reason: This was an impulse buy 6 years ago.
2. Markets: Can be used for ethical businesses, charities , potentially government related.

3. Research: I did no research before buying, however ethics with a (net) sold for 22500$ in 2010

8. Age: whois says created 2010/08/26. this is almost exactly when i bought it.

I agree with @Adam27. "Ethics" is the proper, more desirable, term.

You might find luck with creative people, who want to name their business using the term ("Ethic Media", "Ethic Games", "Ethic News", etc.), but I feel that's a long shot. Another possible option is its use as an alternative to "WorkEthic.ca", but again, I feel that's an even longer shot...

Looks like I sold you that one. Have you ever had a landing page on it that allows interested buyers to contact you? If so, have you received any offers in that time?

I find the reseller market to be very quiet for .ca names. Reseller to reseller, I do much better on the buy side. I think Ethic.ca makes a cool brand, it's taken in 76 extensions

Enduser value on this one could vary based on who is looking for the name, I see it as a name for a company that wants to brand themselves (or a product) as sourcing out ethical coffee, or ethically made fashion, or organically grown food etc.. I'd guess that the demand for these types of products has only gone up in the past few years.

I'd say the missing 's' would be a roadblock for certain end-users (legal, informational etc..), but would make a unique brand for others.

If you sell this name to a reseller, I'd say you'll come out at a loss, but if you sell to an enduser you should do well on your investment. It's not the easiest name to find a buyer for by doing outbound, but not out of the question. Look for Canadian businesses that highlight ethics in their branding, culture, mission statement etc..

It's really hard for me to give an appraisal on names like this without knowing how things are lining up in a negotiation.. motivation of seller, who the buyer is, their intended use etc... if you are somewhat motivated to sell the name, I'd say anywhere in the 4 figures is possible depending on who comes looking for the name and why. There's also the 'if' factor as well, as in if a potential buyer materializes, sometimes with these names you just don't know how long you may have to wait.

decided to put up a small contact form on my website for people to make offers, yes i have received some offers in the past 5 years via the "cira" system to my email. although none were appetizing enough. To be honest i never had a thing on the website saying i might be willing to sell, mainly because i thought i might eventually do something myself with it.

There is a chance, might be a bit of a stretch but I think it is plausible. I could even become very plausible depending on how popular the currency becomes... apart form Ethic (Ethics) there could be another market segment u can explore

ETHic - could also be used as a brand for a crypto currency business/company... Ether is one of the fastest growing Crytpo Currencies at the moment, it's abbreviation is ETH (like Bitcoins BTC) so that could possibly present a separate set of potential end user for you.
