The forum is running vbulletin 3.51 with these addons:

Article Bot

I just want to make sure this is right. If this is correct, that means there are at least 15.5k posts made by the bot with no replies, assuming the other 2k posts have one reply each. Assuming the average thread that has posts has an average of 10 posts each (my two forums average just under 15 posts per thread), that leaves us with about 220 real threads, the rest posted by a bot. 220 threads by 800+ members? Of course, a whole lot of assumptions, but probably not far off.

Have the owners found the bot is helping drive traffic to the site through the search engines?

The reason I ask is that I have tried this with a forum I own. The bot drives a little traffic, but it doesn't stick around at all. I am just wondering if it is working in this situation or not.

The clients have not mentioned any revenue and will inquire in an email to them tonight.

Mouseketrips, I know this is a fairly mute point now, but I asked the clients regarding this "article bot" and they allowed me to convey this back to you.

"The bot was helping to keep and also maintain a high level of traffic to the site via SE's. It was not a standard version of the bot and was highly altered to suit our requirements."
