Hey guys, I was wondering what some essentials are for every domainer.

What sites do you use regularly? e.g. Sedo, Adwords, etc.

Aside from domaining strategies and theory, what are some of the tools you need to be proficient with?

Please add to the list or make your own, with instructions if you like.

I would recommend you spend time here reading the threads and asking any questions you may have, but i would have a look at othe domain sites and get the views and thoughts of others, you will always find that some people have different views to others, learn about current trends within all areas, learn about different affiliate programs if you plan to build sites with your names, To be totally honest with you, i have learnt alot from asking questions and posting here, if you have a site post it in the review section and you will get advice about it, not bad advice but constructive advice.

Hope this helps :)

This is, I think the top forum, and I read it every day. There are 3 or 4 others that I regularly visit as well. I would say, if you don't do anything else, read the forums. That's where the gold is buried.

DNF is another forum but you got to pay to be able to buy and sell domains - dnjournal is useful for reading articles - estibot is a bit of fun for getting 'valuations' - ricklatona is sometimes interesting - namebio for researching previous sales prices -

That's really nice site, thanks for sharing.

I'm new to domain names myself, and I think the first place for me to start is by reading the stickied threads here, the ones that have hundreds of responses. That's the best way I think to pick up on the nuances and details of the conversations between those with experience. I like to think of it more in terms of creating your toolbox, because there may be a list of resources everyone could benefit from, there are bound to be tools that work best for you. It's like different learning styles, finding out which tools and sites are easiest for you to use.
