extended escrow with payment plan?

I have a buyer interested in a domain name but the price is a bit out of reach for them (and I won't negotiate lower).

They have requested an escrow with a payment plan which seems reasonable to me because I can verify they have good potential income over time.

The problem is, from what I can tell, escrow.com does not offer payment plans. Are there other services that can do this?

A final bump before I give up on this.

I've done endless googling at this point with no service seemingly capable of this. Apparently at one point escrow.com did custom contracts but the current owners do not allow that.

Thanks for any ideas...

Tell them to get a credit card. I would be very careful with this scenario unless you are not going to transfer the domain to their account until the domain is fully paid off. If you give them the domain right away you'll obviously run the risk of them not paying, and unless you can do credit and background checks and have a collections company you can work with I'd probably reconsider.

can you disclose this payment plan?

I don't think any escrow service has a payment plan.

The easiest thing would be to request a payment in full from them before transferring the domain.

They could get a payment plan from their bank, either through a credit card or a personal/business loan, depending on their situation and the amount needed.

I am not aware of any service that will offer an escrow payment plan. Although, a service like that would be interesting. They could offer the service for obviously an increased charge. Alas, you may just need to find a trustworthy third party.

Well, Im not sure DigiPawn is the right move for this transaction. from what I understand they make loans based on domain value. In this case its basically a purchase involving payment plans.

I thought Moniker did an escrow payment plan? I got this from their escrow services page.
The buyer or seller of domain(s) can start an escrow transaction. You must provide the other party's email address so when the originator submits the transaction an email is sent to the other party requesting approval. Many payment plans are available for the buyer including 3,6,9 and 12 month plans. Custom payment plans are available for an additional fee, please add your plan details in the comments section of the transaction.

Maybe this would fit the bill?

Moniker is now working with domaincapital which is probably the case there. But then again, so is godaddy so the buyer could just as easily buy it straight through godaddy and domaincapitals plan.

This seems it would work.

If you cant find any other options why dont you do like a lease to own type of thing with them. Basically keep the domain and let them use it until paid off. So its a win win situation for everyone. You keep the domain until you are paid in full and you let them use the domain while they are paying it off. Hell even if they wanted to find another buyer and sell it for a profit you would get your money back on it. ;) Thats what i would do in this situation.

Ask you bank or credit union, just to see. Sometimes if your bank or credit union is smaller and more customer friendly, then they will bend over backwards for you. Mine does.

You would probably never get Bank Of America, or the likes to do something like this b/c they suck.

Seriously, how hard could this be to arrange for a bank or Escrow.com? It's very simple.

Moniker has this facility for payment plans

- Single Payment

- 3 months

- 6 months

- 9 months

They also have a custom plan. It costs $ 100.
