Domain Marketplaces and Escrow services seem to favour buyers, with escrow of funds and not domains!

I am looking for escrow service from sellers view, so domain, specially .com, is escrow'ed also.

Please advice for an escrow service that ... ( does all the following points )

1) escrows both domains ( .com in particular ) and funds ( must escrow domain for amount over $250 )

2) transfers fund to seller by paypal AND wire transfer ( provides both options )

3) communication is in English

4a) has flat % or 4b) low fixed fee for even sales of low amount ( $xxx )

5) accepts domain push/move at Godaddy from seller to escrow account ( and not ask for transfer of the domain )

Escrow should have option to transfers funds to seller by Paypal as well as Wire transfer. Upto $1000, paypal is preferred but for high value, paypal fee's turn out to be too costly, and wire transfer is better

I found...

1) ECOP
ECOP does not escrow domain for sales less than $1000. disappointed, all other factors seem good. ( Wish they would include a small falt fee for sales of less than $1000 to escrow domain also. )

2) Sedo
Sedo provides External Domain Transfer Service, but the page does not clearly mention if they always hold .com in escrow. ( See Step 3: Technical Domain Transfer ).

3) DN.com
I like their low fees but I am apprehensive about language difference and payment transfer process. ( @discobull thanks for details ) I have to use an intermediate bank for wire transfer, so based on the feedback thread it does not seen quite straight forward, plus I could not find paypal option for withdrawing funds?

4) Escrow.com
High fee's, $150 for domain escrow, too steep for sub $2,000 sales. Also, I could not find information on withdrawing funds by payal? If you are outside USA, specially in Asia and have experience with Escrow.com, please contribute your experience.

Have I missed out any other escrow service that escrow's domains?

What is your choice and why?

If possible, please include...
* your experience,
* days taken to receive the funds after moving the domain to escrow company,
* any pro's and con's for each escrow provider,
* list of documents they have asked to be sent before releasing funds?
* Incase of problem, how was the problem handled.

Thanks.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
many times sedo will ask you to push the domain to their account, then they will push to the buyer.
I have also transferred domains to buyers and pushed them directly to buyers accounts within same registrar.

the "technical transfer" @ sedo is about whether you the seller does the transfer or will have someone else do it, like a webmaster or something. sedo can pay via paypal.

I've been buying and selling domains on sedo for 10+ yrs and never a problem
most transactions take a couple of days or less, after payment is sent.

used escrow.com as well, typically asking buyer to pay fee's, and verifying transfers has never been a problem.

imo....

If I'm not mistaken both Escrowhill.com and Snapnames offer the escrowing of domains, but I haven't used either service and am not sure if they offer a paypal option.

FYI, the issue with DN.com is that their bank form lacks an entry for ABA routing numbers. They only request swift codes which is fine if you don't have an intermediary bank, but, when you do, the intermediary bank has no way of knowing where to send your money. The issue was resolved for me by providing them with that added info which is now noted in my account ( unlike the aggravation I experienced with my first transaction, my second deal with them had my money in my account in under 24 hours ). Also, they speak fluent English so there was never any communication problem. That being said, I would only use them for transactions involving buyers in China.

Just closed a deal through 4.cn and unlike dn.com they do have a paypal payout option. Unfortunately, they also have the exact same problem with the bank form so if you were opting to get a wire you'd have to notify support about your ABA routing number.

@discobull , How was your experience on English communication?

4.cn and dn.com are just different divisions of the same company so it was pretty much the same experience all around. No problem with English whatsoever.
