Could someone please explain to me what the big difference is between WWD and ENOM resell accounts. I have a $7.95 Enom account but could get a $6.75 WWD account for a small fee. Is there an advantage of having one over the other. Enom for instance requires a $100 deposit before you can reg against your acct whereas WWD does not. Sound like WWD would be the way to go huh?? Give me opinions please. Any info would be helpful.

Oh, and one more thing. Regarding NamePro usernames. Are there any restriction to registering for new account so that one could have a different username? I have access to multiple PC's and I no longer wish to use "dokrockr" as my username. Have something entirely in mind that I want and would suit me well with my hobbies and interests and all. Guess this is a question for admins and mods.

Thanks,

Dok

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

With WWD, they get a percentage of the profit you make on each domain sale. I don't believe WWD has an API either, so you have to use the same generic page as everyone else, with a few customizations.

$6.99 Enom reseller accounts are available from various resellers and Enom are a tremendous reseller's registrar. API, PDQ, easy push, etc etc. The $100 refill is used for names (- $3 charge).
WWD requires a $99 annual fee for the privilege of using the facility and I personally do not think that they offer anything like the features of Enom.

I register quite a few domain names, usually I use godday. Will it pay for me to open a reseller account at enom? In what way would this benefit me?

Thanks,

The key words Suz are "quite a few domains" - to get a $6.99 account you will need to pay someone the going rate of around $350 average, (and rising because you cannot get them from Enom anymore - Enom's lowest price now is $8.99), then you get to reg com/net/org etc at $6.99 (not tv/ws etc which cost more). So it will take you 175 names reg'd, renewed or transferred from a more expensive registrar to break even. However if you offer domains to others through a reselling site using Enom's reseller tools then every domain = $$ earned and so you would break even and start to add profit sooner.
Most resellers would reg or renew this number quite quickly and soon recoup their money and move into profit but a small user might not find it the best option to "invest" the money rather than "pay as you go" at an extra couple of $$ per name.

A standard $8.99 account would enable you to have email, redirection and etc from the Enom range of tools and these can be obtained free from most resellers. They are probably better value than Godaddy - check out www.enom.com for further details BUT don't sign up there or you will be paying $29.99 per name! - use a reseller's sub-account.

Thanks for that info...

If I sign up through a sub for $9 do I get the 10 page website? Does that include hosting? (if so where do I line up)...

Thanks,

Suz

From the Enom site:-

"Web Site Builder is available with every domain name you register and/or host with eNom.

The tool's intuitive interface provides you with the power to create a web site very quickly and easily and publish it to the Web. You can customize your site by selecting from many different templates, styles, and backgrounds as well as by uploading your own photos and graphics.

This service is FREE for the basic service plan, which allows you to create a one to ten page web site.
Note: you can't upload any code to this site. All code is generated by the Web Site Builder tool.

To start, all you have to do is to enter your domain name in the field below and click the "go" button.
(Note: You may also access the Web Site Builder tool by going to your domain name's control panel and clicking the "change" button in the Web Site Builder service area.)"

If you want a free $8.99 account then drop me a PM :)

$8.95 Enom

MOM,

Actually, you will have several options as an Enom reseller. Your best bet if you are looking to sell names is to login to your account (once it is active) , fill your domain balance (Min $100.00 deposit - $3.00 enom fee = $97.00 total.) From there you can reg names at $8.95 or create your own registration website (Easy Setup, and I'll even assist you via telephone if need be.). You can create website using PDQ (allows you to customize many things on the site) or use (registry rocket) which basically serves the same purpose, just limits customization options to a minimal.

Or you could add the links to an existing website that you may have and register names from your existing site. With Enom there are many options, and as a domain broker / reseller you almost certainly need an Enom account.

After your site is setup then you can sell the name for whatever you wish above the wholesale price. Sell them for 9.95-99.95 if ya like. It's up to you. Do some good marketing/promoting and you can easily make some very good profit from this business. Oh, and with the PDQ customizable features you can even add your own "welcome to mysite message" or list your existing names for sale on the homepage.

Call me with questions or I can call you if you would like to discuss this further. Just shoot me a PM with your phone # and I'll call you anywhere within the continental USA. I'll cover the long distance charges! :)
