I just did a whois on a domain where the domain is no longer in the eNom database and the domain expired on July 30th. What date will this domain drop?

It depends when it entered redemption. Then you can start counting the days.

If the name has any value at all it will never drop. Enom will add it to their stash or quietly transfer to an 'insider' (read that big time player).

Their business practices can only be described as despicable.

So does anyone know eNom's drop proceedure?

After a certain time (1 month+ ?) it should appear at namejet as prerelease. If it gets no bids => redemption => drop.

OK. It became available yesterday/today. I just regged it. So that's 30/31st July, Aug, Sept, Oct 1-17, 78-80 days. Probably 78 days.

wow lucky enom didn't swallow it up. yeah enom sucks. its amazing how when a domain from enom is supposed to be available that it never does - it always goes into an enom account. no one gets a chance to register it.

And alot of those domains they try to sell here: AcquireThisName.com - premium domain name brokerage

I hate enom.

I think eNom's Modus Operandum is to renew all domains. Those that don't get renewed by their owner's are kept for the renewal year. In that time, if it makes money, they keep it. If it doesn't it goes to deletion when it next expires. If it's not picked up because it's backordered on NameJet, then it goes through the normal deletion process of 78 days.
