Is the Enom API registration command real time?

I wrote to script to automatically attempt to register a domain. I ended up checking the WHOIS which showed it was available and registered it manually on the eNom.com site. I don't think there were any issues with the script. Does anyone know if the PURCHASE command is done in real time?

The purchase command is done in real time and if you had it coded properly, it should have worked. I would double check your code again and also make sure the link you're using is for the live interface and not the test environment.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you need to have your IP registered with them (just open a ticket and let them know your IP for API access) and also remember that you can't send continuous amounts of direct registration requests with eNom. You have to check availability first and then send to registration only once the name is actually available.

Thanks FPForum. I did have the IP inserted into the accces list. And probably it was because I was sending all PURCHASE calls. Thanks again.

From what I recall, enom is realtime - but their API is disabled during the drop for .com & .net domains. This is so they can utilize their registrars to catch domains for themselves & namejet. I'm not sure if this has changed, but you may want to experiment and attempt to purchase an available .com or .net during the drop window of 1pm - 2:15pm CST. Last time I checked, I wasn't able to register domains during this time window.
