End User Sent Me LinkedIn Invite

Hello,

Sometime in July, I contact a handful of law firms for a Mesothelioma Domain I own and I didn't hear from any of them. But I did notice that they viewed the message more than 5 times.

Well, fast forward to present, I got a linkedin invite from one of them. I had practically forgotten and so I deleted the invite. Yesterday, Linkedin sent me a reminder for the invite. I checked and saw that the picture looked very familiar to me and when I double check, it's from one of the law firm I contacted.

I accepted the invite anyway.

Why would they do that instead of replying to my email?

Unfortunately it's probably automatic. When you connect Gmail (or any email provider) into Linkedin it spams all the email addresses to make connections. Your address would have been one of those due to sending them an email in the past few months. This user probably sent out hundreds of connection requests simultaneously without really considering who was in there. I've been guilty of the same in the past.
