End-user contact question

After selling almost exclusively to other domainers for two years, I'm planning to offer several one-word generic .com's to end users.

I've been through some threads where people discussed different ways to contact them. I've tried email before, but without success, so I'm planning to send actual letters this time (with follow-up phone calls).

Question: If I just send the letter on nice paper, is that sufficient, or do you think I should spend the time and money to get personal stationery printed? (I'm operating as a self-employed individual; haven't incorporated or anything yet.) What has worked for you?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
Dave

Hi Dave. Chatted on the phone about this but I think at least a heavier weight paper. Something like resume paper should do. You might want to compare costs on the resume paper and the printed letter head paper. You might be surprised.

Keep in your mind, what would you like to get, and what would make you open it.

Hand written on the envolope for sure, maybe even on the inside.

Try to send a letter by fax. I know for a fact that business people are more responsive to fax letters. Good luck with your sales!

If you have a logo then use that. Or go to vistaprint.com and you can purchase some nice stationary for cheap.

If you want to contact well financed end user (ie big company), is it better to send a formal letter or fax instead of email?

What are some creative ways to make the letter seem professional (design wise)?

The obvious is to use a correct letter format. Secondly if you have a logo use that. Lastly always sign the letter.
