If the .us market ever takes off I shall be happy.
But we aren't there. The pattern of stagnation is here to stay imho.
I would just set the auto-renew off. Or grace delete if not too late.
BTW, make sure you understand the rules and confirm that you are indeed eligible for .us domains.
Thanks for your reply, I have only 4 .us domains and not too aware of the rules for who is eligible, could you explain me this please? I don't live in the US
Under .US nexus requirements .US domains may be registered only by the following qualified entities:
- Any United States citizen or resident,
- Any United States entity, such as organizations or corporations,
- Any foreign entity or organization with a bona fide presence in the United States
To ensure that these requirements are met, NeuStar frequently conducts "spot checks" on registrant information.
To prevent anonymous registrations that do not meet these requirements, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration has ruled that registrants of .us domains may not secure private domain name registration.
Registrants are required to provide complete contact information without omissions.
http://www.neustar.us/the-ustld-nexus-requirements/
"failure of a registration to satisfy the Nexus requirement will result in the name being placed upon a 30-day hold, during which time the Registrar will be notified and given the opportunity to correct the information with the Registrant. If no action is taken by the Registrar within the 30-day period, the registration will be cancelled and the name will be returned to “available” status. The registration fee will not be refunded."

this is strict registry requirement. and you may find one/all of your .us domains placed on hold upon next random spot check.
if you have a friend/relative in the US ask them to be a nominal registrant for your .us domains and if they are OK with that change your whois records accordingly
or use one of trustee/local presence services which many registrars provide for additional fee. you may need to transfer the names if your current registrar does not offer such a service

Indeed, many other domain holders are in breach of the nexus, and they get away with it, until a spotcheck is made. But I think it's important to be aware of the rules when you dabble in ccTLDs.I'm just a small domainer and site developer, so I wonder how strict is to meet this requeriment in order to trade .us domains or develope them. I guess a very few foreign domainders with .us domains would meet 100% the rules, what do you think?

The rules are actually enforced from time to time
Here is one famous example:

But the .us market is so weak that you aren't missing out imo.
Random LLL.us can be bought for $$ but frequently remain unsold. I even dropped some (not the worst of the worst), couldn't be bothered. At this point there is no market for 4L.
