I've located a single short word with the extension .email Is it worth purchasing or would it hold no value?

I was just about to say..stop getting his hopes up everyone. Did you just check to see if the PornoEmail.com was taken, or actually developed? It has a 1990's style poorly designed landing page (beware, banners as well! lol) and no real website behind it. Anyways, if there is one thing you've already learned on this forum it's that you should probably purchase the name before you post about it here, which you already did. That's a start.

I don't think you'll get much for the name. Especially since Porn.email is parked and for sale already, and that is ideally the better version (Porn in your Email or something, maybe?). Start developing or go list on GFY and you might get lucky

I had a quick look myself and it certainly doesn't look like a site that you'd sign up too. I was unaware of GFY and I own a few adult domains so thanks for the advice.

I have been rather disappointed with adult industry in general, even though I am a customer. So many of the sites are seriously outdated, don't work well on mobile, etc.

A lot of them don't want to pay to modernize. There are a few good ones, I won't mention them, but most - they are really bad. And if you portscan the servers, they clearly don't know what they are doing.

I don't think porn or porno on .email has much market value.

pornstar dot email might be something an industry insider might want to run as a service for porn stars, they could have their trademarked name [at] pornstar . email - a service for fanmail etc. and mailing promotionals that protects their identity by stripping out all attachments and embedded images etc. in e-mails they read.

But I doubt anyone would pay a lot for the domain name. I could be wrong.

Paypal, skrill, paxum, payoneer, Payza and all of the other sites that I can't be bothered to research/ type that allow users to send money to each other by email address will be gutted to hear this news.

Not saying payby.mobile wouldn't be a better domain than payby.email but as this thread was about .email and payby.mobile isn't available yet...........

I had feed.email and feeds.email and let them drop....In general, people are using email less as social networking has replaced a lot of it's functionality. I can't even get my friends to email me anymore...it's hilarious actually, because they just want to message me FB.

And email marketing is not as hot as it used to be....especially when services like gmail separating promotional mail from your priority mail.

Due to lack in experience I'm terrible at spotting a domain which could have a good resale value. If Sedo tells me it's worth more than the standard 299 then I get itchy feet and want to buy it. I only have 28 domains and I'm yet to get an offer on Sedo.

I remember when I first stated selling domains I was buying (not really selling) some really bad domains.

I was losing money fast and from this I had to change my domain buying habits.

A few simple rules I use:

• Must be .com
• Must make sense
• Shorter the better
• Business related

Saying the above I still lose money on some domains but no so much.

Also, I look at it like this I gain a customer even though I take a loss on a domain

That's a good way of looking at it and thanks for your help.
I think when you start of its very easy to sell it to yourself, believing it's a good brand able domain name. When really you'll struggle to get your reg fee back
