Editing .swf files!

am i able to edit .swf files?

lets say i download a flash intro template... only the .swf file.
then download a compiler.
i do not wish to decompile it as the file would sometimes corrupt.
can i edit the .swf file?

How do you expect to do that? I am certain that it's not possible.
If decompiling doesn't work, perhaps import the .swf file into Flash.
If it is a template, you should be provided with the the source files.
If you are not provided with these, they want you to pay for it.

Please do the right thing.

well if u want a certain image from a flash, u can use flash mx (or w/e) import feature to import the swf. u will get the images and keyframes, but no action script will be imported.
