I'm giving up my dedicated server to concentrate on real life issues and need to liquidate several of my sites. I need some cash and hopefully someone into Ebay will be interested in these sites.

This was my first forum site. When I was actively posting on the site a lot, it was much more active. There is a small, dedicated band of core users/mods who keep the place going. This is a huge site with a lot of stuff to do which will keep users returning.
Features:
*Invision Power Board License included (yearly) Expires in June.
*There is an auction news portal with all news imported automatically.
*An archive of the newsgroup alt.binaries.marketing.ebay is included. You will need a Giganews account to update this feature daily if you want to keep it current.
*Heavily modded site based on Invision Power Board software with every useful board modification you might ever need. Two board index system keeps the mods (high queries) on one board and the discussion (low queries) on the other to reduce server load. This gives you two highly-customizable portal pages to design as you wish. Member synch keeps the two databases current.
*Arcade with scoring, member tournaments, around 2,000 games. I'll give you the source for 1,000 more free games.
*Many more games on the site that won't work with the arcade, but are fun too
*Domain at godaddy. Free push.
*Co-op ads configured and working on the site.
*Auction module ready and installed on the site if you want to use it:
http://www.onlineauctioncommunity.net/auction/
*Funny auction system, jokes system, recipes system. Many more custom board modifications that I paid more than $1000 to have developed specifically for this site.
*Awesome javascript site menu system
*Funny pictures sections, trivia, board pets
*Site Radio
*Custom pages system allows you to make any type of page within the forum wrapper including iframes or includes
*Integrated flash, java and IRC chat rooms
*Links system, member map
*Ebay RSS feeds for member's eBay auctions
*CafeExpress store with custom logo merchandise set up
http://www.onlineauctioncommunity.net/forum/index.php?act=page&pg=OAC_Store
*IB store using board dollars and a real e-commerce store set up on the site.
*Alice (Phillip) bot for your members to talk to, play with
*2 customized Invision Board skins from IBunique
*Many more unique forum features that you will not find anywhere else.
*554 registered members 453,648 posts mods index (Includes Usenet mirror and news posts), 18,707 posts discussion index
Income: I unfortunately do not have my network channeled, but I'm guessing not much. $15-20 per month. Was seeing more when the site was getting a lot more traffic. This is not being sold as an income site, but has a lot of potential for someone interested in Ebay who can get the traffic up and sell some advertising. You could also sell PR text links easily on this site if you got the pagerank up another notch or two. Here's a screenie of last month's income which includes my directory sites income (Not included in this auction) as well: http://www.oacimages.com/uploads/57e972a486.jpg When the site was very active, I was getting around $150 per month in donations through the Paypal button.
FAQs:
Why am I selling this site? I no longer sell on Ebay and I'm out of touch with the Ebay community. I have decided to concentrate on real life issues and don't have a lot of online time anymore. I'm giving up my dedicated server. I need cash to buy a new car.
How do I justify the price with little income? This wasn't ever meant to be an income site. This was my hobby for a few years. Someone knowledgeable could turn it into a moneymaker though. I have put several thousand dollars into this site over the past 2 years. The custom board modifications cost $1000 alone. I of course don't expect to recover what I have in this site, but would mainly like to sell the site at a fair price to someone knowledgeable about Ebay that could make something better out of the site. This is a good site and I'd love to see someone make it successful. This forum could be very active again with some advertising and an active admin. If I can't sell the site for a decent price, I'll just cut my losses and shut it down or hold on to it as it is. The reserve is only $500.
What could be done with the site to turn it around and make it into something? Some ideas: 1) Need an active admin with knowledge of Ebay 2) This could be turned into a funny auctions site easily - The infastructure is already in place for just this. 3) Link sales and advertising sales to Ebay sellers 4) Use the auctions module and start your own auction site - The infastructure is already in place for just this. 5) Use some paid posting services to get things active and advertise on other boards and through adwords to get people there 6) Also consider advertising on Ebay related sites such as AuctionBytes.
What are the hosting requirements? 10 gigs of disk space and 10 gigs monthly bandwidth should be plenty for now. A good shared host will do fine. It should be noted that the 2 SQL databases, especially the one with the Usenet mirror, are quite large. The current server at NAC (P4 3.0, 2 gigs ram, 2x80 gig disk, 100 mbps, etc.) is $169 per month and you are quite welcome to take it over as I will be giving it up on 4/28/06.
Stats may be browsed here: http://www.onlineauctioncommunity.net/awstats/
Starting bid $250 ($10 increments)
Reasonable reserve price set at double the starting bid.
BIN $1500
PAYPAL ONLY within 24 hours of the auction end or the bidding resumes.
Auction ends midnight cst Saturday 4/8/06 or upon BIN and successful Paypal payment.
Serious questions/bids please post here and I'll be glad to answer.
I'll be very happy to respond to any serious question or issue asked nicely. If all you have to post is something off-topic or negative, spam, insult me or post flames, please take it elsewhere. I hate sales threads that end up like that.
(I'm not a fan of PM bids. Makes it look like shady business. Please post your bids here in the thread if you want to bid!)
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
