EBay: Nonpaying bidder...what do I do know?

first time it happens to me, I put for sale a LLLL.com on eBay , just one since August 2007 , and what does happen?

Buyer with 22 positive feedback (100 %) apparently from Cork , Ireland....not only does not pay immediately.....I sent him an invoice yestarday 1 hours after the end of auction....and today the eBay user does not exist anymore

wait a minute:

something is wrong....in the auction listing the buyer username was "fotofap"

while I sent an invoice and it`s username appears to be "annmefi" , if I click on his username , eBay says it does not exist. While if I click on "fotofap" it shows me his profile and can see that lately he paid Yofie too.

I`m confused.

that sounds very good to me, I think that the standard rate is 0.02 , I need to check... I`m surprised I did not even think about that one :o

that is the price when you buy , but you`ll find browsing the forum that 0.020 is the standard fixed price in transactions over the forum.

In that case, if I was to reselling the NP , I`d get only $94.78

And I already need to pay about $5 in eBay fees in any case.

Maybe I should just offer it to second bidder.

Is it too complicated for you to pay to my Bank account? I don`t understand it.

no problem, I hope you did not take it personal because you`ll find (if you become a part of this community) that so many scammers come here quite often and you need to have 10 eyes but once you gain respect and trust then no problem: the other day I sent $400 by PayPal to another seller here with no questions simply because he got my trust over time.

I was a bit bothered to see personal details posted based only on suspicion rather than a confirmed issue, hopefully that will all be dilligently removed from this thread soon. It's a delicate balance between caution and fairness, hard to always get it right with limited information ...

Paranoia is its own reward sometimes, I guess.

I have yet to have any serious problem with transactions either here or on eBay (just one auction on NP ended up with a non-responsive winner, no real loss for me though. Also just yesterday a near miss almost buying $10 worth of $NP from a possible scammer, which another member here then warned me about - thanks!) - but I've been trading domains for only a few months, and sooner or later may have my personal perspective adjusted accordingly ... An unfortunate "cost of doing business online" sometimes.

The rewards usually (not always) seem to outweigh the risks when dealing with domains though - and forums such as NamePros really help with getting to know good trading partners, much better than the limited window that the eBay feedback ratings provide.

I`m updating this thread to remove VTEC`s personal info and I can say that he has been very helpful in dealing with my concerns, he paid by wire and it seems to be a legit honest person.
