Registering (especially) and bidding on โ„ข terms ... gives the whole domain name industry a BIG black eye (and perpetuates the labeling as "cyber squatters"), IMHO. :yell: :td:

I saw a good ebay one for sale on ebay once

It's not just the noobs that are buying TM domains, I'm sure you have seen many examples on Snapnames going for thousands.

in my country (Turkey) lots of people registering names with Google word, and Google took action against nobody yet at least I didn't hear something like that. Even in my town there is a cafe named Google, which is Government certified business name and nobody knows how they registered it :)

by the way the appraisal firm in the ebay appraised gfgfyfvh.com as over 250000$ :sold:

Unfortunately newbies are jumping on the domaining boat every day and repeat the same mistakes...

I used google's logo once in an auction and they killed my auction. I'm surprised they let this one go to the end. This thing is completely infringing on google's trademark, the auction even has their logo.

$525....and worst of all I even know the silly buyer. It`s a woman from Missouri investing for her kids but it seems she has a lot to learn :(

I don't see why you are all making fun of the buyer (not me), when there are trademarks sold all the time on NP. There is even a google typo on here right now, and I think that it is a little hypocritical of you to start this thread italiandragon, when you have expressed interest in purchasing a Google typo on this board.

First of all, if a domain has traffic it`s very different and if I decide to risk , I also know that any minute I can lose it.

I asked if he had traffic, since it does not , for me it`s worth ZERO.

The name in the ebay auction as far as I know has no traffic and the buyer has little or no knowledge of all this stuff.

So you're saying typosquatting TM'ed names is OK as long as that name has traffic, otherwise it is unethical?

It`s actually one of my italian friends knows her.

I just did sent him an e-mail to forward her, inviting her to declare the auction void because of the TM but if she already paid... :td:

No, I`m saying that if a name has traffic I may be interested, even if it`s a TM, the big guys do it , why I can`t do it?

If a TM name has no traffic, why bother?

I`m not surprised: all the messages you have written were opposite to what I was writing/thinking, what`s the matter?

The big guys doing it doesn't make it legal, and it is that kind of attitude that perpetuates this TM stupidity and makes people label domainers as cybersquatters.

No, it`s the Stupid ICANN that does not change the system and WIPO is a joke with plenty of different cases that made no sense.

If I want to start a business calling Gogle , I have a right to do so.

And as far as calling us cybersquatters wake up mate but everytime some domainers ask for more than reg fee for a domain , the media will throw on us an avalanche of dirty words. Making money ripping off endusers , how ethical is that?
