EBay: Nonpaying bidder...what do I do know?

first time it happens to me, I put for sale a LLLL.com on eBay , just one since August 2007 , and what does happen?

Buyer with 22 positive feedback (100 %) apparently from Cork , Ireland....not only does not pay immediately.....I sent him an invoice yestarday 1 hours after the end of auction....and today the eBay user does not exist anymore

wait a minute:

something is wrong....in the auction listing the buyer username was "fotofap"

while I sent an invoice and it`s username appears to be "annmefi" , if I click on his username , eBay says it does not exist. While if I click on "fotofap" it shows me his profile and can see that lately he paid Yofie too.

I`m confused.

Since there was a recent ebay user name change and you're concerned about protecting both parties in the transaction, maybe ask the Buyer to send you an email from the account in which the payment was made confirming the address/email/acct/auth/etc where s/he wants the domain pushed?

windowslive.com belongs to Microsoft , does this mean that he works for Microsoft or it`s just a free e-mail?

I didn't get the one he owes me yet...... I'm not sure he had seen this or not. What does your gut say? Sometimes that's the best to follow. Could also call paypal.

I really do not like it. I`ll rather sell it for less to someone else, there are too many suspicious things here. Maybe I should offer to complete the transaction at Escrow.com ? In that way if he chargebacks it won`t be my problem, right?

Sorry for my english, but I'm Polish, so is the name on the paypal account so If I would use a fake paypal account, I wouldn't use a Polish name on it I'm an honest person and off course understand your position. Good to know, cuz will try to be more carefull regarding buying stuff other people, didn't know that there so many scamers, etc… ps2. think that the paypal name, should not be included in the post, thought that posting private informations is against the policy. ID- If you are still suspicious regarding our transaction, please keep the money till it will be transferred to your bank account and after this transfer the domain Best Regards,

I did not report anyone, I never do anything till I`m sure what`s going on.

I have a Blog and funny to say but just few days ago I wrote about the scammers on eBay, you can read it here so you may understand why we were concerned:

Problem is that I wrote only about fake sellers, while there are also scammers who buy and then chargeback. And that`s more complicated.

Trusting new ebay users is not that simple as you see.

by the way, it`s not a great start using someone else`s paypal....that confuses people. Does your brother in law know this?

Yes, off course he knows about this as I said, w8 till the money will be transferred to your account and later you can transfer the domain (would prefer now, but it's up to you)

I think you don`t understand how PayPal works:

at the moment since I used a basic PayPal account, the payment is pending because I did not click on "accept payment" , if I click refuse , it will returned to your account or if your payment was funded from a Credicard , then no charge will be done.
The problem is mine, since I asked you to pay with funded PayPal balance (money already in your account) which limits a little the frauds and you did not do that, I have to ask my self if you are genuine or not.
Maybe there is one thing that would clear my doubts: would you e-mail me your driving license so that I can see that you are who you say to be? I won`t divulgate it to anyone.

and now the details are left only in Yofie`s post, you have to send a PM to him asking to edit his part or to a Moderator because I can`t do that.

Lorenzo was obviously suspicious because e-bay is a pretty wild environment, but as I am sure , the transaction will be smooth.

if anyone was doing that:

1) the original admin e-mail contact would be immediately informed of a pending transfer , then there would be sometime when GoDaddy would have to wait before to do any change , then 60 days before to change Registrar and still any fraudolent transfer can be reversed based on Icann rules.

2) it would be a crime , so not really interested in that.
